After 10 years gardening on solid rock in Rollingwood, I moved into a 40's cottage in the North Loop area spring 2007. The little postage stamp yard is black clay and no one had ever dug a single flower bed. After visiting Key West a few years ago, I came back inspired by the little frame cottages, white painted railings, and rustling palm leaves. So the plan is: desert tropical cottage garden.

I noticed that Doppler too! Luckily, it rained in south Austin early on Sunday and again this evening. I hope your neighborhood got soaked too!
Oh! This post made me totally laugh out loud, and I had to read it to my S.O. You nailed it! I remember seeing this on the radar myself, and my response was more similar to your tags...I mean, really...WTF????

LOL! Thank you for posting that! We did not get a drop of rain in the 58 zipcode though everyone around us did, I even intentionally drove around just to get some rain on the car LOL! It's fun for my kids to do this. :)
