Buh-bye, winter!

Recipe for House Beautiful: Place stalks of bush honeysuckle in a vase. Deploy on a table. Beauty and fragrance imbued throughout house for week+.

I was happy to discover that my potted parsley has survived the winter. Most of today I spent in stoop labor thinning and transplanting cosmos seedlings. And heaving 40-lb bags of soil and mulch into and out of shopping carts and cars. Have taken 3 ibuprofen and am off to drink beer with ex at Flying Saucer before attending Rachel’s improv night.

I love your stalks. I really want a forsythia bush for that very reason. Just have to find the right spot for it. Sorry you're suffering -- digging and hauling and stooping will do that. Now I can add blogging to the list of things that makes my tendinitis flare up! Oh well, thank goodness for NSAIDs!

You are gardening already? As you know, snow here! Did Grace get to the flower show? I went to Brown last week to hear Michael Pollan's talk. Do you know if she went to that? It was a great talk and I would highly recommend his books! I can't wait to see your blooming branches! Must go snip a few myself so thanks for that reminder.
