And if they zoomed in on the odd crooked triangle bordered by I-35, 183 and Mopac, I bet THAT spot would have the lowest amount of rain in all of Travis County! I can't count the number of times we've watched an approaching storm on News 8 Weather break up right before reaching that tiny spot. (Guess where we live?)
I'm pretty sure that western Williamson co. is in there as well. We watched another one roll by us to the north tonight. This weather is just crazy. I've lived here all my life and can't remember it ever being this bad, and I'm old.
Libby -- I don't know where you found that map, but yikes, it says it all, doesn't it? Oh well, I guess we're all gonna have to deal, aren't we? Since it isn't going away any time soon!
Oh, I believe it. Robin @ Getting Grounded and I drove up to Dallas the last week of July, and it was raining and green and so much cooler up there. It was depressing to drive home from that and see the landscape turn into something just waiting to catch on fire.
After 10 years gardening on solid rock in Rollingwood, I moved into a 40's cottage in the North Loop area spring 2007. The little postage stamp yard is black clay and no one had ever dug a single flower bed. After visiting Key West a few years ago, I came back inspired by the little frame cottages, white painted railings, and rustling palm leaves. So the plan is: desert tropical cottage garden.

We need to have a pow-wow and do a REAL rain dance...this is ridiculous!
